A Mississippi Biker's Pecan Pudding

We interrupt your scheduled blogging to bring you this special announcement: Loopysos' blog has been hijacked by Lucy's boyfriend to show you the product of perseverance and a promise.

I made the decision to cheer Loopy up with something very close to her heart; pudding. After seeing the Hairy Bikers Mississippi Adventure I decided the best place to start was with one of my personal favourite desserts, the humble bread and butter pudding. After looking at the recipe (the only change I made was to use brioche instead of a baguette) the twist the Hairy Bikers put on a traditional dessert seemed delicious and simple to make.

After preparation it kind of looks like it's made with Fairy Liquid but trust me it smells delicious.
Word of warning: beating the eggs in a bowl with the sugar is a lot harder and tiring without the use of an electric whisk... I found that out first hand.

Once cooked the first slice releases the wonderful scent of caramel and bourbon.
I'd never in my life made butterscotch sauce before so this was truly a trip into the unknown, between the fear of wrecking a saucepan and possible third degree burns the perseverance paid off, the mixture of pecan bread pudding and the butterscotch sauce really works and I'd recommend the recipe to anyone wanting to try something relatively simple where the results speak for themselves.

Obligatory Loopy Hello Kitty tray with pecan pudding
And it's with this that I will love you and leave you, hope you enjoyed my first hijacking attempt, hope to speak to you soon.

New Haircut. The Chop

So couple of weeks ago secretly got my haircut, didn't tell a soul that I was going to do it, spoke about it but never said when and if I do it for sure. After months of my hair breaking off, not growing the speed usually does. Finally gave me the push to chop it off. Been wanting to go short for quite some time now, in the past I've had very short hairstyles for some reason I gravitate to short hair after awhile. Was looking for hairdresser that was understanding as do suffer with dry scalp, can be very embarrassing showing stranger hey I have flakey scalp. As in the past I've gone to hairdressers and they be pulling a face like eww flakes, oh wow, or just being rude. So from that have shied away. Until now so looked for new hairdresser, as the one I am familar with, lovely lady, sadly was off sick. Me wanting to just do my hair no stalling. Googled, came across Lydia's hairdressing salon, what was great you could whatsapp her, found I could talk her about hair problems, also just heads up that I am disabled so might need to help me into the seat or out, and Lydia was cool about it. Once got there, and she began to do my hair there wasn't interruptions, as too many times in black hair salons they can take forever to do your hair, as they might stop and chat, go to different customer, just distractions everywhere. For me I can't afford to be at salon all day due to my health.

Once Lydia asked what hairstyle I want, she worked her magic. I do apologize I never took pictures of my hair straight away other than the 1st pic in the collage, I've just been enjoying my hair. And the pics above was taken at Easter after a meal and while my sister was drinking wine so yeah. And the back of my hair, pic don't do it justice, plus it has grown a bit where bottom bit was shaved. But don't despair I'm sure there be more pics of my hair and in better quality. I just thought I do this blog post now as I didn't want to do it until my loved ones saw it in person. So surprise sureprise to my friends and some of my family that didn't know. Exclusive for my readers. Sorry not said anything like I said just been enjoying my hair. Oh if you want different ways to style short hair, still can change the look just because it's short don't mean can't have fun with it, may do blog post or even a vid if I am brave enough.

Also must be wondering why two collages of same thing, as couldn't decide which one to post, I put both up. As black and white looks like I am going to casting call, showing my portfolio, which did make me laugh. Then normal colour one just so you can see it in real light.

Let me know what you think, do you like the new haircut?

Also details on the hairdresser done my hair. Lydia's hairdressing salon, 312 London Road, Croydon, CR4 2TU. Phone number 02070418829.

My hairdresser just sent me the pics, that she took on the day for her portfolio.

Ritzy Brixton Bar

Kids Meal

Vegetarian Burger

If you read my blog thinking another food post back to back, truth be told when I do have chance to go out for a meal I like to document it as my picture diary. My dear friends bless them (lovely bunch), took me out, treated me for a meal. So my friends kept telling me about this place, I know of the cinema been there several times but I've never eaten at the cafe there. They sold me on the home made houmous like I LOVE houmous so I was like yes take me there. That first mouthful of it, I knew straight away me and the houmous was meant to be. The food was delicious. I loved the kids menu (nice selection) and the fact served with salad I don't know just thought good little thing. Cool place to go for a meal, or just a hot drink or beverage.

My apologies that it's another Brixton place, well last post was Clapham. However I am South Londoner girl so it's to be expected me posting about South London places. But don't worry won't be all focused same area in future posts.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

My meal

Excuse the crumbs in each pic, that's from the peanuts we ate. Tables are clean.

Couple weeks ago had nice treat, it was little celebration after bit of good news. For ages I've wanted to visit this place, but something either come up or it's my health same old same old. So finally by surprise my friend took me on sunny day, the weather was great and Clapham is an area I love. Now onto the food, I ordered Camemburger and Sweet Potato Fries with bacon aioli, drink- Ginger & Lemongrass fizz (free refills yay pour me another). The meal itself filled with flavour, nothing burnt/over cooked or under cooked, the burger was juicy succulent and just oozed in my mouth ever so effortlessly. I am burger girl and for me I was in burger heaven. My fries delicious the bacon aioli made me want to know the recipe as I want to try it at home. Drink was fresh refreshing and tasty. Comfortable seating which is great for me, bonus. Service is good and will defiantly be going back. The only thing I will say is wish their banner was brighter and bigger, as can easily go pass it by accident, as I am visual person things like that can make difference, that's my personal view. So if you need me you know feel free to contact me.

ps - changed the blog, fancied a change. Still some tweaks need to be done, but will do it in due time.
